WELLS FARGO VOLUNTEERS REHAB A HOME WITH HABITAT
Wells Fargo grants $20,000 and commits 300 volunteer hours for project
Gulfport, MS (Oct. 10, 2012) – More than a dozen Wells Fargo team members are rolling up their sleeves to rehab a home with Habitat for Humanity of the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
Wells Fargo granted $20,000 to the project, and volunteers will give 300 hours working twice a week for six weeks to complete the necessary repairs at a home in Biloxi.
Members of Wells Fargo management will be among the volunteers on Wednesday, October 10 at the home construction site located at 815 Bradford Street in downtown Biloxi, MS. This 1,100 square foot home has 3 bedrooms and 1.5 baths. The grant comes from the Wells Fargo Housing Foundation through its Team Member Volunteer Program, where Wells Fargo commits funds and volunteer hours to help with housing related projects.
“We always love working with our local Habitat for Humanity affiliate,” said Fred Osing, Mississippi business banking manager for Wells Fargo. “They make such a lasting, positive impact on our local communities. We’re proud to support them.”
Wells Fargo has supported Habitat for Humanity of the Mississippi Gulf Coast for many years, and last April gave $10,000 and many volunteer hours towards a LEED for Homes house in Pascagoula.
“Habitat is honored to have a financial and volunteer commitment from Wells Fargo again this year,” said Chris Monforton, Habitat for Humanity of the MS Gulf Coast Chief Executive Officer. “This commitment shows that Wells Fargo is dedicated to the people and the communities of the Mississippi Gulf Coast.”
Habitat for Humanity of the Mississippi Gulf Coast was formed in January 2007 when Harrison County HFH and HFH of Jackson County merged organizations. Since then, HFHMGC has incorporated Stone County into its service area and has constructed or repaired more than 550 homes. HFHMGC works in partnership with community stakeholders to create innovative, sustainable housing solutions by empowering all members of our community to actively participate in creating opportunity for people to transform their own lives.
