General Informaton

Invest in Yourself is a personal finance education and coaching program that uses a variety of group education and individual coaching methods to help participants create a brighter financial future for themselves and their families.

GROUP EDUCATION – Invest in Yourself offers group education courses on a variety of personal finance topics designed to offer participants the basic information and encouragement needed to reach their own personal goals. In addition to the course offerings listed here, we can also bring our courses to your group or location.

ONE-ON-ONE COACHING – Invest in Yourself also offers free one-on-one coaching to help participants work toward their individual goals. Our program specialist will work with each participant as they craft their action plan and offer support and guidance each step of the way.

COST – With the exception of Financial Peace University, all workshops and coaching are currently offered free of charge. Participants in Financial Peace must purchase a member kit (refer to last page of downloadable attachment for details).

REGISTRATION- All courses listed are open to the public, but registration is required. Please call or email our office to register. Space is limited and registrations will be accepted on a first come, first served basis.

Saving Strategies and Debt Reduction

Designed for those who want to start saving, but are not sure where to start, this course reviews the dangers of spending all we make and the powerful benefits of “paying yourself first.” The course will also review the true cost of goods purchased with credit and how carrying large amounts of consumer debt endangers financial security

Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University

New York Times best-selling personal finance expert Dave Ramsey leads you on a journey to living debt free in his all-new 9-week Financial Peace University. Prior to the start of each series, we offer a free orientation session where you can learn about the course free of charge with no obligation. If you decide to enroll in the course, the cost is $92 per family and includes a workbook, textbook, audio CDs and an envelope system for managing cash.

A reduced rate is available for HFHMGC homeowners and those who meet income requirements. Contact our office for more details.

Banking Basics & Money Management

A great course for those with little experience using banks; this course introduces the basics of opening and maintaining checking and savings accounts. The course addresses the hidden traps of check cashing and pay-day loans as well as introducing participants to the wide range of free web sites available to help beter manage their finances in order to reach goals.

How Your Credit History Affects Your Future

Designed for anyone who would like to beter understand the many ways their credit score can affect their future and learn strategies to take control of that future today, this course reviews the four main components that impact credit, what creditors look for when making credit decisions, finding and correcting errors on a credit report, and strategies to improve credit.

Designed to bring hope to families struggling to recover from a financial setback, this course will equip participants with proactive, practical strategies for geting back on their feet. The objective is to help families visualize a brighter future and realize that their current financial difficulties do not have to be permanent.
