The Golf Channel will air more than 17 hours of tape-delayed coverage of 2011 Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic, set for March 31 – April 3 at Fallen Oak. Coverage will air locally in Mississippi on Cable One basic cable channel 18. During this coverage, you will see television spots on Habitat for Humanity of the Mississippi Gulf Coast, the charitable beneficiary of this event, as well as coverage of local landmarks and other notable spots on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
Tournament coverage will begin at 11:30 p.m. (CDT) on Friday, and 8 p.m. (CDT) on Saturday and Sunday. There will also be re-airs throughout the weekend and the final round will replay on Monday, April 4.
The Golf Channel coverage will be anchored by veteran announcer Brian Hammons. He will be joined by Curt Byrum in the booth. John Mahaffey and David Marr will provide on-course commentary and Matt Gogel will be walking the course.
The 2011 Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic will be played March 31-April 3 at Fallen Oak. A field of 78 will play for a total purse of $1.6 million and a $240,000 first place share. The tournament is uniquely funded by 14 consortium sponsors, who see this event as an ideal way to showcase the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
Friends and supporters of Habitat for Humanity of the Mississippi Gulf Coast can still participate in the Birdies for Charity program.
