<h1>Habitat for Humanity of the Mississippi Gulf Coast will be presenting a workshop titled Saving Strategies and Debt Reduction.</h1>
Designed for those who want to start saving, but are not sure where to start, this course reviews the dangers of spending all we make and the powerful benefits of paying yourself first. The course will also review the true cost of goods purchased with credit and how carrying large amounts of consumer debt endangers financial security. There are several dates, times and locations for participants to select from.

— Thursday, May 9, 2013 at the HFHMGC office at 2214 – 34th Street, Gulfport from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.
— Thursday, May 16, 2013 at the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce, 720 Krebs Avenue, Pascagoula from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.
There is no cost to attend, but registration is required. Saving Strategies and Debt Reduction is part of HFHMGC’s INVEST IN YOURSELF program to help motivated individuals and families achieve personal financial goals beyond home ownership. INVEST IN YOURSELF is a personal finance education and counseling program designed to equip individuals with the tools needed to reclaim control of their finances. Courses and counseling cover a variety of topics including credit repair, developing a family savings & spending plan, rental counseling, foreclosure prevention, and much more. Through an array of seminars, workshops and one-on-one counseling, participants will have the opportunity to learn valuable financial management skills and work with a Habitat program specialist to craft their own individualized action plan.
