HABITAT FOR HUMANITY INVITES YOU TO A FREE WORKSHOP TO BUILD A FINANCIAL FUTURE
Habitat for Humanity of the Mississippi Gulf Coast (HFHMGC) will be presenting a workshop titled Financial Foundations. Designed as an interactive course that addresses attendee’s emotional relationship with money and calls them to take immediate action to improve their financial futures. The course will highlight the importance of building savings, developing a spending plan, and reducing debt.
Attendees will have access to free one on one coaching for encouragement and support in applying each of the foundations. The course was designed and is being presented in conjunction with brightpeak financial, a new division of Thrivent Financial, a faith-based, not-for-profit founded more than a century ago. Brightpeak financial aims to help families and communities thrive and become more resilient.
There is no cost to attend Financial Foundations and dinner will be served, but registration is required.

Financial Foundations is part of HFHMGC’s INVEST IN YOURSELF program to help motivated individuals and families achieve personal financial goals beyond homeownership. INVEST IN YOURSELF is a personal finance education and counseling program designed to equip individuals with the tools needed to reclaim control of their finances. Courses and counseling cover a variety of topics including credit repair, developing a family savings & spending plan, rental counseling, foreclosure prevention, and much more. Through an array of seminars, workshops and one-on-one counseling, participants will have the opportunity to learn valuable financial management skills and work with a Habitat program specialist to craft their own individualized action plan.
Habitat for Humanity of the Mississippi Gulf Coast was formed in January 2007 when Harrison County HFH and HFH of Jackson County merged organizations. Since then, HFHMGC has incorporated Stone County into its service area and has constructed or repaired more than 892 homes.
