Habitat for Humanity of the Mississippi Gulf Coast is presenting a workshop titled “How Your Credit History Affects Your Future.”
Designed for anyone who would like to better understand the many ways their credit score can affect their future and learn strategies to take control of that future today, this course reviews the four main components that impact credit. Those components are what creditors look for when making credit decisions, finding and correcting errors on a credit report and strategies to improve credit.
There are three dates, times and locations for participants to select from:
- – Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at the HFHMGC office at 2214 34th Street, Gulfport from 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
- – Thursday, July 18, 2013 at the HFHMGC office at 2214 34th Street, Gulfport from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
- – Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce at 720 Krebs Avenue, Pascagoula from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
There is no cost to attend, but registration is required.
“How Your Credit History Affects Your Future” is part of HFHMGC’s INVEST IN YOURSELF program to help motivated individuals and families achieve personal financial goals beyond home ownership. INVEST IN YOURSELF is a personal finance education and counseling program designed to equip individuals with the tools needed to reclaim control of their finances. Courses and counseling cover a variety of topics including credit repair, developing a family savings & spending plan, rental counseling, foreclosure prevention and much more. Through an array of seminars, workshops and one-on-one counseling, participants will have the opportunity to learn valuable financial management skills and work with a Habitat program specialist to craft their own individualized action plan.
