College Students Volunteer with Habitat for Humanity of the Mississippi Gulf Coast during Spring Break

Gulfport, MS (March 3, 2015) – Habitat for Humanity of the MS Gulf Coast is hosting 24 student volunteers this March while the students are on their spring break. The students are participating in Habitat’s alternative spring break program called Collegiate Challenge.

“We look forward to having the student volunteers again this year. This is our ninth time hosting students during their break and we are appreciative of their efforts,” said Adele Lyons, Director of Development at HFHMGC.  “This volunteer effort provides the students with an opportunity to help build affordable housing in the Gulf Coast area. The work they’ll do during their break will have a lasting impact in our community.”

The groups volunteering are –

Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, IN with 10 students from March 2 – 6.

Suffolk University in Boston, MA with 14 students from March 9 – 14.

St. Edward’s University in Austin, TX with 10 students from March 16 – 20.

The students will be working on a new home construction project at 353 Park Drive in Biloxi.
