Habitat for Humanity of the MS Gulf Coast nominated the Chair of our Board of Directors, Delmar Robinson for a GIVE (Governor’s Initiative for Volunteer Excellence) award and I am excited to tell you, Mr. Robinson was selected for the award. Congratulations Delmar!!!

Mississippi honors Robinson for his gift of giving

3-21-12DSCN0475smMost south Mississippians know Delmar Robinson for his work with the Biloxi Housing Authority.  People around the state know him for his philanthropy.

The Governor’s Initiative for Volunteer Excellence (GIVE) just released its list of honorees, people who do extraordinary things to improve our communities.  Delmar Robinson is on that list.  Robinson is being recognized for his outstanding achievement in sustainable community solutions.

The GIVE Awards honor individuals and groups who positively impact the state of Mississippi through their significant volunteer efforts.

“The 2012 GIVE Award recipients raise the bar in humanitarianism and servant leadership; not only for the state of Mississippi, but for the nation. We are humbled and honored to tell their stories of selfless service that are sure to inspire and encourage in these trying times,” said W. David Mallery, MCVS Executive Director.

Alexander’s Photography will also receive a GIVE award for its outstanding volunteer service by a business.

C. Rose Nelson (Oxford)  Outstanding Service by a National Service Participant

Marshall Ramsey (Madison)  Outstanding Service by a Media Personality

Pauline Redmond (Columbus) Outstanding Service in Disaster Relief

Detrater Roberts (Clinton)  Outstanding Achievement in Healthy Community Initiatives

Delmar P. Robinson (Biloxi)  Outstanding Achievement in Sustainable Community Solutions

These distinguished honorees will be recognized at an awards luncheon scheduled for April 16, 2012 at the Mississippi Museum of Art.
